Lizzie Tench

“I try to accept the things I cannot change, have the courage to change the things I can, and find the wisdom within me to know the difference.”

‘Keep putting in the effort and the commitment and you’ll get the results you want’. If you’re Lizzie Tench, those results include being British Paratriathlon Champion from 2014-2018, European Champion in 2016 and a World Championship bronze and silver medallist in 2015 and 2016. She also competed at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and has represented Team GB at the Paracanoeing World Championships.

Lizzie was left with incomplete paralysis from the waist down after being hit by a car whilst cycling in 2012. Her incredible sporting achievements are born from a determination to build something positive from the accident. Motivated by learning, creating strong relationships and helping people move forward in life, Lizzie volunteers as a wheelchair skills mentor and somehow finds time to challenge herself through scuba diving and water skiing.

Her drive, positivity and dynamism make her a true asset to The Ability People team.
